BOWMANVILLE - Three teenagers are nursing injuries after they were run down by a snowmobile while standing at a Bowmanville bus stop Saturday.

A 15-year-old boy was later charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failing to remain at an accident, Durham Regional Police said.

Police said the victims, two 15year-old girls and a 16-year-old boy, were standing at the bus stop at Jollow Drive, near Freeland Avenue, at 10:20 p.m. when they were struck by the snowmobiler.

Injuries ranged from a suspected fractured leg to facial cuts, police said.

The accused teenager later turned himself in at 16 Division, police said. He was released with a court date.
